Kentucky Colonel

A few weeks ago my good friend and business associate Sean Stafford asked me if I wanted a Kentucky flag. Of course with most things political things getting our flags proved to be a little more tedious than we anticipated with certain political offices giving us the run around while other just gave us a [...]

NO RAPPER LEFT BEHIND: KY MOVEMENT Volume: 6

This past January Louisville’s very own DJ Empty Beats or EB for short dropped i4i media’s first official mixtape. Now some six months later after some major thirst from the streets your prayers have been answered. Step In2 The Bad Side Volume 2 is finally available.

First and foremost, this is damn sure a dope ass mixtape and I’m not just saying that because I played a role in the shit. Ask my man Beezy from dope16.com. –Razor laces some of the mixtapes most potent verses as DJ EB mans the board himself on the jumpoff joint “Step In2 The Bad Side.” We all know that Bobby Brown and his ex-wife would melt through the cup on a random drug test so in commemoration of hat Big Zoe lends his satirical standpoint on one of the collection’s standouts, “Dope Like A Bobby Brown Piss Test.”

After a skeet taste of his commercial single “Bonnie” Kasanova breaks down some of the real politics and bullshit that go into the game on the sarcastic back packer feeling “They Say.” After a shit load of heaters tailored specifically for the streets DJ EB invites the Playa Patnaz and Sly Still-On to kick something for the ladies on “She’s A Superstar.” Things quickly go back to the street way as Mussa from the Nasty Natti kicks fluid over a commanding backdrop on “Gettin Money.” Louisville’s urban legend Father Jah reps alongside Native and M-1 from Dead Prez as they all spit philosophic analogies on “Jungle Walk.”

After a certified heater from Tocka on “My Hustle Game,” BHS’s own D. Fresh comes through with one of the mixape’s high points with “Broad Day.” SNL come through and make it thought for the gold diggin saddity types on the dog ass nigga anthem “Throw.” I4i media affiliates Smooth and Lil Dre proceed to run lyrical circles around a cadence filled backdrop on “Bout War.” Cocky takes time to enlighten all of us about life on the grind with the attractive “Pushin Buttons On A Microwave.”

Bonanza Phresh comes with a completely different swagger on the Lil Wayne sampled “Army Guns” before Raw comes with something sultry for the ladies on “Biting.”  J Burns, another accomplished BHS representa kicks some major shit over his own production effort and a slight Rick Ross sample on “Whip It.”  My main man Young Tyrant comes through with his potent and powerful word play on the anti-fag-shit anthem “No Homo.” With the last spot on the mixtape Bricks just might have turned in the collection’s best performance with the attention grasping “Tank Talk.”

I heard a couple of you fuck fuggots knockin this shit on datpiff.com, it’s whatever. Real recognize real and I’m pretty sure ya’ll was wantin to hear some Soulja Boy or Keak Da Sneak shit. Yes, that’s a direct shot to you internet fake ass gangstas from the Bay. Don’t get it twisted I watched my dude Del The Funky Homosapien perform here in the Ville last night and he wrecked. I noticed he didn’t have shit to say about that wack ass hyphy bullshit ya’ll off. Plus I fucks with Messy Marv and from what he says he don’t respect that weak shit either. I know you probably readin this and chances are you’re probably “thizzin” and the pills probably have you thinking you ready to come out and test a KY Boy’s nuts. All I got is one thing to say; Step In2 The Bad Side bitch!
