Kentucky Colonel

A few weeks ago my good friend and business associate Sean Stafford asked me if I wanted a Kentucky flag. Of course with most things political things getting our flags proved to be a little more tedious than we anticipated with certain political offices giving us the run around while other just gave us a [...]

I must admit that this guy right here is definitely part of the reason why you’re reading this blog post. Growing up as a kid I loved nothing more than going to the store to pick up the latest editions of both The Source and XXL. Things are a little different these days as the other day I think I came to the decision that I’m no longer investing in magazines. I mean, they were a very intricate part of my childhood, teenage years, and young adulthood but I must say that I have a sensational yet perplexed understanding that I am now part of the media.

With that understanding I’d like to take a couple of sentences to apologize for my off color comments about the Chris Brown and Rhianna situation the other day. I was asked to delete the post but I didn’t simply because I’m a man of my word. If I said it, whether or not I meant it the way it was perceived, I have to take responsibility for saying it. I was simply trying to be sarcastic about a serious situation when I shouldn’t have, and for that I apologize.

Now, back to the hip hop magazines. I’m becoming more and more fed up with the fact that I can see something on the net and then three weeks later it shows up in some rap magazine like it’s new. I’m one of those people who likes to look at shit. Like CDs for instance; I just stopped buying the shit out of CDs last year. I always liked opening up the booklets and reading through the production credits and shit. Now it just doesn’t appease me anymore, I guess mainly because 99% of all rap music is garbage these days.

Which brings me to my next point! This year I will be critiquing albums much much much more harder. I’m sorry but I want that 90s hip hop/gangsta shit back so no more “oh it’s good for now” type feelings for these funky ass rappers. In the past I liked a CD until I heard it and then I found reasons throughout it not to like it. This year however, I don’t like shit until I hear it and these motherfuckers better give me several reasons to like it or I will shit all over their precious albums.

I want to take this time to thank you for reading this pointless ass rant of mine. I was really supposed to write about how much Elliot Wilson has inspired this blog but somewhere after the third sentence I decided fuck that. So now you know how I feel and you can take this shit to the bank!
