Kentucky Colonel

A few weeks ago my good friend and business associate Sean Stafford asked me if I wanted a Kentucky flag. Of course with most things political things getting our flags proved to be a little more tedious than we anticipated with certain political offices giving us the run around while other just gave us a [...]

Hell Rell – Get In Line Or Get Lined Up (3-24-2009)

Someone has obviously forgotten to send Hell Rell the memo that Dipset is indeed broken up and thus his third national release finds him pledging allegiance to the set once again. After his two previous critically acclaimed efforts For The Hell Of It and Black Mask Black Gloves Hell Rell is obviously taking no time to figure out the outcome of the whole Dipset rift, instead he’s going completely for self with his high powered latest effort Get In Line Or Get Lined Up.

Ruga Rell comes out spitting hot hollow point bullets on the album’s title track “Get In Line Or Get Lined Up.” On the encore effort Rell comes out shooting bigger and badder rounds over one of the most commanding NY beats in a good amount of time on “Shoot Em Up.” Rell opts for a more relaxed mindset as he lyrically murders the iced out “Shine.” The album suffers from a couple of early hiccups on the NBA Tonight inspired “Ruga Rell” and the ill placed “Young, Black, & Strapped.” Using a recycled beat from Shawty Lo on “Damn I’m Cool” definitely does not turn out to be a good look for Ruga. Ruga Rell goes on the late night grimy tip on the seriously premeditated “One Eight Seven.” “Hardest (Remix)” features two fiery guest shots from NY originals Styles P and Fame from the legendary M.O.P.

Get In Line Or Get Lined Up sounds a little more like Hell Rell in his much more reckless and belligerent mixtape days than he did on his other two joints. As usual the entire album pretty much revolves around rounds, grenades, ammunition, heavy metal, and many other powerful forms of street artillery. Though this album has more than its fair share of mishaps it still shines a fair amount of light on one of the most underrated current, ex, or future members of the entire Dipset. Basically with or without his Dipset affiliates Hell Rell will continue to wreak havoc on the entire industry, which leaves every one else with a simple decision… Get In Line Or Get Lined Up!
