It Must Suck To Be You…

News broke the other day of yet another rapper who turns out to be not quite as real as he was once perceived. Actually I feel a little uncomfortable actually acknowledging Alfamega as a rapper since he’s only done a hand full of stuff and furthermore I can’t even recall him dropping a single mixtape. Some of you may remember Alfamega as the very promising artist from TI’s only weak ass album to date, TI vs. Tip. I can’t recall which tracks he was actually on but he did a little damage.

The other day it was reported that Alfamega was indeed an informant in a federal drug trafficking investigation. Here comes the fucked up part; he served a seven year sentence which was reduced by a measly 18 months because he decided to run off at the mouth and cooperate with the DEA thus turning in a few of his well known drug dealing homies.

Now I’m not sure what role if any he played in TI’s recent legal troubles but sources are saying that Alfamega was at the scene of TI’s 2007 arrest in the Walgreens parking lot along with the fuck-boy bodyguard. Aint that some bullshit!

I’m not one to be walking around talking about stop snitchin this, that, or the other because quite frankly that’s not the life I live, nor have I ever. I can say that in my own personal opinion loyalty is everything and something about this story spells disloyalty in all capital letters. This means that record labels owned by big stars are going to have to be more careful in who they pick up in the future.

Could it be that the DEA, CIA, FBI, and regular ass police are going to start planting snitches posing as rappers at various labels. It’s really fucked up that hip-hop and the world has had to come to this; I guess Nas was right, hip-hop is dead, and dead as fuck at that! I mean really, what’s next, gay rappers posing as gangsta rappers? Perhaps transvestites will be trying to rock the mic next! I honestly believe that its way to easy to get into the game these days and I’m willing to bet that over 80% of these so called rappers wouldn’t bust a grape in Welch’s backyard. In other words many of your favorite rappers are fuckin frauds.

Earlier today TI went on record and released the following statement in regards to his ex-employee. It’s really fucked up that a man gives another man a second chance at life and that other man turns around like a fuckin schoolyard sissy!

“Even though all of our artists and employees are asked by us to be honest and open about their past history at no time did Alfa disclose to me or Grand Hustle what has now appeared in the media. He essentially deceived us by failing to fully disclose the truth about his past and there is no place in our organization for dishonest and misleading behavior. As I’ve always said, you must take responsibility for your own actions; we at Grand Hustle do not support or condone blaming others for our own mistakes. I hope and pray to God bless his financial plans but I do not foresee me or my company playing the role of his personal or professional business.”
