For some odd and equally strange reason rappers are continuing the trend of not putting their best material on albums. The latest asshole is Fabolous… again! His latest album bangs from front to back pretty much but this is about the third track that failed to make the final cut that in my opinion should have been one of the first ones chosen. Maybe it’s the dumbass A&Rs who know absolutely nothing about the streets and the music that it breeds that keep making these dumb ass decisions. Maybe it’s the dumbass artist.

This chick Chelsea seems to have something for the dark meat. I know I don’t watch her show everyday but it seems like every time she has a rapper on she starts to cream her panties. In this clip with Fabolous she starts to talk about something all up in her. At this point I must say that I’d love to be that something. Whatever it may be.

Since 2001’s Ghetto Fabolous, Brooklyn rapper Fabolous has been nothing short of a quiet staple in hip-hop. Though his albums haven’t always faired the best critically or commercially he has still managed to keep his name above water for just about all of this decade. His latest effort Loso’s Way is advertised to be his best and most personal work to date. With a slew of quality producers on deck all that is still up in the air is Fab’s lyrical arsenal, which up to this point has never come into question.

Fabolous comes out spitting rapid fire at random hip-hip bystanders on the opening “The Way “Intro.” Fab spits “why don’t you go and practice safe sex and go fuck yourself” on the immediate standout “Imma Do It.” The Justice L.E.A.G.U.E. laces Fab with a victory inspired backdrop on another one of the album’s witty standout efforts, “Feel Like I’m Back.” Fab takes another victory lap on the Keri Hilson assisted “Everything, Everyday, Everywhere.”

The album’s first single “Throw It In The Bag” serves as another reminder of how much damage the cooperation of the Dream and Fabolous can be.Lil Wayne and Fabolous prove to be another potent combination as the two go tit for tat on the horn heavy “Salute.” Fab enlists the assistance of Ryan Leslie to lace a nice South Beach inspired backdrop and an accompanying hook on the “The Fabolous Life.”

Trey Songz and Fabo promise to hit the grind just one more time on the potentially fatal “Last Time.” The Marsha Ambrosius assisted “Stay” should touch real men in the heart as Fab details his relationship with his toddler son. Fab closes out the album with an intricate tale of betrayal and deceit on the Sean C. and L.V. produced “I Miss My Love.”

Loso’s Way is exactly what it was advertised to be. From front to back this album is hot. Fab manages to keep a key balance of hot beats and hot bars on Loso’s Way. Each song packs enough punch-lines to go hand in hand with the punch from the bass. Though this album probably won’t go down as an instant hip-hop classic it will prove to be Fabolous’ saving grace. Basically if Fab had released this same album in 2003 or 2004 he would be categorized in the same breath as Jay-Z by now, almost!

Just in case you haven’t had the time to rush to the store to buy Fabolos’ latest album Loso’s Way here’s the under-hyped movie that comes along with the store edition of the album. I’m not sure if it’s out on bootleg or not. As with any other movie made by a rapper this one features guns, drugs, and other salty ass rappers. Styles P plays the role of the other salty ass rapper in this one. Too bad these two couldn’t have a beef in real life. I’m sure that would be one for the ages. Fabolous is pretty nice and all but I must say that I’m pretty amazed that no one has tried to take a shot at the dude so far.

I guess since Fabolous has neither taken a lyrical nor a literal shot in his real career he felt a little compelled to take a little bit of both in this short film. I don’t know about you but for me it’s a little inconsiderate for a rapper who has never been shot to take a few make believe bullets in a movie. I’m sure that he knows of a few people died in real life from that shit. Maybe a few rappers! Anyhow, the movie is pretty dope. It does have a somewhat interesting storyline to it and it’s not as corny as most other movies masterminded by rappers.

I’ve never really been a huge fan of Fabolous but this new joint might just change that notion once and for all.  I really love how I aint the only young black dude who drinks wine anymore. I still love the look on the waitresses face when I request a big ass glass of merlot. I just haven’t quite made it to the level of offing cats in fancy ass restaurants like Faboloua has!
